Deals Gap Trip Anyone ?

We all know that the Miata Club every year does a weekend at Deals Gap, (if you dont know what or where Deals Gap is Check out dealsgap.com) The 3 drivers on the east coast should do a weekend there. Maybe even include those 6 drivers (spin)

I live in Kernersville which is a small middle of nowhere town right in the middle of Winston-Salem and Greensboro.

I am from Orange County New York. Grew up about 10 minutes from Jersey. Are you from up north?

The club I am in is planning on doing Deals Gap on friday, September 17th. We will be taking a road trip to NOPI like we did before and plan on doing the tail of the dragon at the same time. While this is not finalized I think that this year we have the best chance of actually doing it. So hopefuly many of you guys will join us.

Tentative schedule for us is:
Leave South Florida early Thursday morning.
Arrive in Knoxville, TN same evening. Maybe go sightseeing (i love sightseeing )
Sleep over at the hotel for the night. Do the deals gap a couple of times on friday and head down to Atlanta.
Wash our cars, sleep over and go to NOPI like last year.
Sleep over.
Head home on Sunday.

The Miata's do indeed gather at the Gap each year to tame The Dragon. You'll find us there July 21st thru the 25th. I'll be in the Miata, but I'll be wondering just how well my 3 would work on The Dragon.Ya'll bring your 3's and chase us around a bit.

I tried to stir up some interest on this and didn't get much. I don't want to go up with the Miatas. There is just too much traffic to enjoy the road with that many people there. Your constantly having to pass people if they aren't up to speed. Also the cops are hellatious on the weekends. If I go up I'll make it on a Sunday/Monday type visit so I can be on the road with no traffic or cops.

The last weekend in July is Miata weekend at The Gap. We'll be there Wednesday or Thursday to get in a couple days of good driving. From Friday afternoon on it becomes more of a parade.

I think the 3 would be great fun at The Gap.

I am here in Knoxville. I am in the military so if you need some deals for your overnight here just let me know and I can try to get you the military rate at the hotel we use. Just a thought.
