Sorry for the delay. Building a new company and things are going gangbusters. Right now I'm thinking the weekend of May 26 & 27 would work out well. In all honesty, I might follow my typical plan and go up Sat. evening and stay in Alcoa, TN at the Airport Days Inn right on US 129 (Alcoa Hwy.) I like to have Sat. afternoon to rest up, take the boat out, clean and tune the MSP, get most of the travel out of the way and then get situated and drink a few beers on Sat. night before hitting the Dragon on Sunday. It's about 35-40 min. from Alcoa to the Tail of the Dragon. Sunday mornings can work out really well for getting some light-traffic runs in. Things will pick up in the afternoon before clearing out again after 6pm or so. Even when you're not running, half the experience is just seeing the show. You're likely to see everything from Vipers to Lamborghinis tearing it up, but the fastest folks on the Dragon are the experienced sport bike riders. It's truly amazing to watch what they can do on this road.
If anyone wants to come on up and hit the Dragon for practice on Saturday, go for it. I might get up in time, but probably not. Making several balls-out runs in a row will absolutely wear your ass out, and one day pretty much does me in. If you've never done it, you'll understand afterward. I'm usually sore the next day or two, lol.
Check back over the next few days as I'll post some more info, some links, tips, etc. Anyone is welcome to call me, but I'll be in NJ next Wed. and in Canada on Thurs. for business, so it might be hard to catch me the second half of next week.
