Sorry for the delay. Building a new company and things are going gangbusters. Right now I'm thinking the weekend of May 26 & 27 would work out well. In all honesty, I might follow my typical plan and go up Sat. evening and stay in Alcoa, TN at the Airport Days Inn right on US 129 (Alcoa Hwy.) I like to have Sat. afternoon to rest up, take the boat out, clean and tune the MSP, get most of the travel out of the way and then get situated and drink a few beers on Sat. night before hitting the Dragon on Sunday. It's about 35-40 min. from Alcoa to the Tail of the Dragon. Sunday mornings can work out really well for getting some light-traffic runs in. Things will pick up in the afternoon before clearing out again after 6pm or so. Even when you're not running, half the experience is just seeing the show. You're likely to see everything from Vipers to Lamborghinis tearing it up, but the fastest folks on the Dragon are the experienced sport bike riders. It's truly amazing to watch what they can do on this road.

If anyone wants to come on up and hit the Dragon for practice on Saturday, go for it. I might get up in time, but probably not. Making several balls-out runs in a row will absolutely wear your ass out, and one day pretty much does me in. If you've never done it, you'll understand afterward. I'm usually sore the next day or two, lol.

Check back over the next few days as I'll post some more info, some links, tips, etc. Anyone is welcome to call me, but I'll be in NJ next Wed. and in Canada on Thurs. for business, so it might be hard to catch me the second half of next week.

lol This is going to be a fun weekend.. I'm going to Huntsville, AL for that meet, and if I wake up, I'll go to Deal's Gap with you guys. My boyfriend wanted to run it in his car this time.
I can go in the morning time to run it, but that's all...
I gotta go to work at 5 : (
I'll give you a call on Sunday to meet you up there.

wow does that mean we'll see you on the 27th?
If I get the car in the shop this week, yes. Got a few things to button up before I can take longer trips again.

Mine doesn't seem to be terribly hard on brakes up there. I spend most of my time in 3rd and get a lot of engine braking. Then again, I'm not going completely balls out except on certain sections.

Have you ever been to Deals Gap?

Yea...spent a weekend up there last October. Had about 4 other weekends in the car prior to that, but several years ago before it was repaved. Tons of trips up on the bike over the years.

Gotcha. I was wondering if you'd be missing out on your first trip, but that's not the case.

You have to make multiple passes.

129 kills tires and brakes if you drive/ride on a daily basis.

Yea...my last trip up there went through about half of my Hankook Rs-2 tires. I made well over 10 passes in two days though. Some guy from Alabama on ZX6R got really good video of me, but he is too embarrased to upload it since I was outrunning him.

I've passed liter sportbikes in my old Dodge Neon Sport, stock.

That road is all about road knowledge. When you know what lines to take there it shaves much time off your runs.

I passed a dude in a Viper with my little brother's EX500, a very underpowered, overweight somewhat sportbike.

All because road knowledge.

Oh, and the fact that I'm the effen man.(breakn)

Hell yea...we should get up there and run together. I could get some really stable videos of you on the bike with the camera mounted in my car. I'm installing a MSP turbo kit next week so hopefully you won't disappear on the short straights.

(alright)

Not riding right now.

Had a bad crash, taking some time off. Also incurred some debt from the wreck.

I'll bring the MSP out anytime though. Should have the new clutch in tomorrow, and all the rest of my t-bolts (I keep blowing off piping couplers).(cabpatch)

Sorry to hear about the crash...been there done that...need surgery on my shoulder...too lazy to get it fixed right now.
