Dealing with door panel trim coming loose

For some reason the 'leather' door trim of the front passenger side panel in my 2016 CX-5 is coming loose. I pushed it back in with a plastic spudger but it won't stay in place and works itself loose again.

Has anyone had this happen? Do I need to remove the whole door panel and glue it in place ?

Try spray glue

The whole panel is easy to remove. See if you can fix it from the inside.

This happened to me. Being lazy, I wanted to avoid using spray glue because that would entail removing the old glue or else it would just peel again. I took some spline that is used to secure screen mesh to the aluminum frame and positioned the leather trim in place and pushed the edge and the spline into the crevice at the top. I didn’t really take care so part of it is loose again but the other half is still good. Just a temporary solution for sure.
