Dealer sold me a cold air intake for my ms3.

the intake will be a part number GRMS-8M-L29 not currently avail and there regular 3 exhaust wont work either its either smaller or the same size piping that the speed 3 has stock they have both parts being made i am hoping they step up and make them avail.

Supposedly the CAI will now be available 12/15 at an absurd price. Have you heard any news on pricing?

i emailed mazdaspeed customer service last week and asked on the availability of all the good stuff. they still havent replied, i guess there all union hands and are still on break - that would explain the high prices.
i will post their reply if i ever get one.

FYI

i just spoke to some fella with Mazdaspeed, the CAI is GRMS-8M-L29 just like one guy said and the exhaust is GRMS-8M-L26. These are available to be shipped to dealers on 12/15 and will only be shipped to the dealers that have requested them.
This guy wouldn't commit to a price for these products.
these are the only 2 hp gaining products they will be offering. i asked about a short shifter and he said they currently have no plans.
both these products are specific to the ms3.
keep up the good work guys.

What do you mean by 2hp gaining products? I heard that they said they got something like 30 whp out of intake and exhaust?

If it makes you feel any better, I went to the dealer today and they thought if it was a Mazdaspeed part that it would fit the speed3. I had to argue with him and he finally got it. He couldn't find a part number for the CAI for Speed3.

You would think that the training would be there especially for a limited production model like the MS3....

what i meant was they offer 2 products that directly increase hp. Other products save on weight and add looks. i did not suggest the gains were only 2hp, that would be just stupid. This was from mazdaspeed customer service, not the dealer.
Call em on 1800 222 5500.
30hp gain for both parts is what we all heard.

CAI comes with a new MAF

Alright, so the MS-CAI due out on 12/15 is being sold for a ridiculous sum to at least one guy on the other forum. Allegedly this is at least in part b/c it comes with a new MAF. If so, I think they won't sell very many. People will find other more cost effective ways to add power.

got quote today.
GRMS-8M-L29 = $819.02
GRMS-8M-L26 = $1533.85
there's more... they need your VIN to order it, just 1 for each ms3.
then he actualy thought i was gona buy them, told him no thanks bud i'll come back when i've turned stupid.

i'm gona spend the money on a suspension lift and some 33's for my TJ.
Piss on mazdaspeed if they think were idiots with too much money.

1 good thing was i met a guy there asking the same questions as me for his black ms3.

nothing else to say about this.

$819.02 for a mazdaspeed CAI!!! (shocked)
no way!!
I'm gonna buy the AEM for half the price, maybe more.
It is the same thing, mazdaspeed CAI are made by AEM.

We'll have to wait and see if AEM makes this one and it's identical like the MS6 CAI. On the other forum they're saying the MS3 MS-CAI incorporates a design which prevents a "too lean" CEL code from popping up. Of course, at first they said it included a different MAF, but that turns out to be false. So, who knows. I guess we'll find out over the next few months.

hey guys. well let me start by saying i am a mazda salesman and the owner of a new speed3. i know most people hate car salesman, but i might have some useful information. from what i know, the speed3 parts will be released in january. i was told a new parts catalog is coming out this month, but my parts guy has yet to see it. there will be a cai, exhaust, springs, coilovers, and lightweight wheels. there should be some interior trim, and appearance items. we have not heard anything on pricing, but i could'nt imagine them being any higher than speed6 parts. if there are any questions, let me know. i may not have alot of strings to pull, but i do have a few higher ups i can get info from.

Do you know when the MS3 service manual will be available?

Did you see this from a post above? The numbers are for the MS3 CAI/exhaust:

This gibes with other posts elsewhere, including from a crazy guy who says he went ahead and ordered both. Maybe your parts guy can actually check out the prices if you give him the part nos.

An aftermarket vendor (Street Unit . com) is offering MS-CAI as well, at $780, and appears to have lots of info on it.
