dealer refused to change my shift knob/steering wheel!!

yes. my shift knob and steering wheel is peeling and i took it in to the dealer and they said they'll ask the factory rep. and i called like 2 weeks later and they said the rep. said no. i thought the warranty covered it? didn't someone say they got it replaced under warranty?? hm..what should i do?? help help.
o yea..one more thing, sometimes when i drive with heat on, i can smell smoke comin out of the vents. few times in the sun i could actually see the smoke come out from the vent when i had a/c on. any ideas???

My buddy did get his steering wheel replaced under warranty. The dealer that we take our cars to has felt so bad that we have had so many problems with these cars, that they have been very helpful in other matters. If your dealer really wanted to, they could do it for you.

ya, i got my replace under warranty. go back to your dealer and respectfully ask why the warranty work was denied. If they give you a bulls*** excuse or cant explain them selves. then tell them you are going to call Mazda of America AND the better business buer...(i cant spell) then go home and call Mazda.

the smoke coming out of you vents is the blower motor resistor is going to go out. If you fan still works on all 4 settings then you might have a couple of weeks, maybe more before it quits all together. Had the same thing happen. Does the smoke look almost white/clear and smell like solder? Well thats it. Take it to mazda and tell them whats up. Hope I could help, later

I got my shift knob replaced. They acted like it was no big deal. I went up there and was like " my shift knob is wearing down" they said "no problem, we'll order it today and you can pick it up this week"
