Dealer Quote Roof Rack Rails and Bars, $419 Is that a good price?

I'm trying to figure out if my sales man is cheating me or genuinuly being nice. When we bought the car he said don't order the rack and rails, he would get them at his cost and we'd just pay him directly.

He quoted me S295.16 for the rails, and S124.76 for the cross bars. He said this is his cost.


Has anyone ever bought these before, if so how are his prices compared to yours and or market prices?

umm that seem REALLLLLLY high to be his cost. I don't know how much they "should" cost, but that does not seem legit. There are alot of Mazda dealerships (actual real deal mazda dealerships) that sell parts on the web and sell for much less than your local Mazda parts department. Search around on 247 for such threads. Also, you may try www.car-part.com and see if any yards have them (2007 - 2011 should be the same). or www.rockauto.com

Oh yes, rails install in about 20 minutes max, and that includes un-packing. No special tools required and clear and concise directions. DYI simple.

Wow....28% mark-up in less than 5 months. Now that's inflation. Wish I'd have purchase a dozen or two at the $356 price.

Below is a 'copy-paste' of the shipping notice received 04.17.2011 for the order I placed the day prior. The 2007 and up all use the same rack and cross bars at the same current price.

The SS step plate only went up a little more than $5 to $132.37
