Day Time Running Lights

Hello again!!

I was wondering if anyone knows if the Cx7 can be programmed to have Day Time Running Lights?

We recently relocated back to the States and where we were it was mandated on any vehicle after 2002.

We have gotten use to it and would like to have it activated if possible?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Oops nevermind, you can find someone to install a DRL module, ask your dealer, or look online, aftermarket DRL isn't reliable but it can be had.

DRL Update:

Went to dealership to sign final docs. Asked service to run Cx on computer to see about setting DRL come to find out, no such settings????

We even called engineering and they too said that there is no module yet known.

Any ideas on this................

You need to have a shop install the correct relay(s) and associated wiring/fuse and you're set. It'll cost you about $100.

Canadians have to do this anytime we import non-DRL cars from the US (DRL's have been required here since the late 80's).

There are very few cars that can enable DRL through the software (Porsche's can enable DRL's thru PIWIS or sport chrono for example)...

I'm confused because I'm in the states and I don't have DRLs on mine...I miss that option....

DRL's are not required in the US, so most cars do not have them... however we're seeing more and more models come with DRL's standard as they're a very, very good safety feature.

Oh ok, I was confused from the first post. Plus almost every car I've owned has had them, so I was confused that my CX7 didn' thave them.

It's just a cost-cutting thing... companies like Ford will typically avoid the added expense if they feel it's not something that'll help sell vehicles.
