Data logs after adding the HKS Ignition?

Hey guys,

I don't have an MS3, but you guys seem more likely to have upgraded than anywhere else, so I'll ask here.

Has anyone added the HKS twin power ignition system and done any datalogs for Knock retard? I've heard feedback from those that have upgraded and everyone seems to say that the car "runs smoother", but I'm wondering if this is in anyway impacting the engine knock that is occurring on the stock disi.

FWIW, I'm not saying that it does, but I'm curious...

I dont know if you remember the old member Laloosh but he added one to his heavily modded MS3 and talked about it on the "other" forum and said it made everything drive and accelerate smoother(power delivery) and I believe his knock settled down as well, and he could notice it just driving around as well as on datalogs. So yes, it does impact engine knock, in a good way. you will get less overall(depending on mods etc...) and it wont be as sporadic and all over the place, just little blips of 0.xx knock. So in the end, is this worth $500? one member asked laloosh and he said yes. but also said, is a CBE worth $500? it is, but it's not something you really need right away.

That's exactly the feedback I was looking for. I will probably PM him on another forum to see if he has any other inputs. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Do you happen to have a link? I just read the post that bykeryder4life mentioned, but there weren't any datalogs included there.

PM me if need be...

sorry bad info but laloosh is a good source. I am sure he has or did some datalogs when he put it on so he will have all the specifics for you if you get a hold of him.

ive had it for a while and if it helps ive never seen knock past .4 seriously

Have you set your DashHawk to alert you anytime you go past 2.0...?
Drive between 3K-4K on part throttle and cruise. Get back to us with the results. I guarantee you, you have crazy knock.
