i filled the hole with bondo filler, then sanded it down, covered it with the vinyl. here's the pics of the final product. What ya think?

I think the strip looks clean and well made, but I'm not liking the way it's bulging out. Maybe it's just the angle. Side note: I think the stock setup looks a hundred time better, but I'm sure your sound system kicks ass. I'm just not the person to sacrifice form for function...I want both (shrug)

i dont think its bulging out i think that the radio trim panel doesnt fit up good you can see along the sides how it is deeper then the rest of the dash and the top piece u can see a gap. i think its the radio trim piece that is the problem. the c/f trim piece looks pretty good though i worry how well the bondo will stick to the plastic overtime. hopefully with the vinyl over top of it, if it cracks it still might not be visable.

you should sand the dash kit and paint it with a color similar to the one on the a/c part

I was thinking it would look really nice to if it matched that piece to. Unfortunately it's hard to match factory finishes like that with paint. I use to work for a paint and coatings place a while back and there were people that could do some killer matches (way better than what the computer would suggest) but there were some cases where it just wouldn't cut it. At least it's a different piece but it's to bad there isn't more of an angle between the two. It's not just the color that would need to match, it's also the sheen.

yep your right, the metra kit leaves a gap.

Are there any alternatives to the metra kit in the works? I'm thinking of going with an aftermarket HU and mod my dash trim the same way... But I don't really like that gap.
