Not to start bashing on all cops as I obviously don't have any experience with them all. But in this area there are several small towns that have cops who think they run everything. I was going home in the MSP I'd say 5 months ago and cruising around 59. I see what was either a cop of just some ass riding my bumper. So, I slowed down to 45. It literally takes 4 miles for the cop to just turn off onto a country road and turn around.
I think they should just have a reason to pull out behind you first and foremost. If they wanted to run plates, hit up somewhere with a big ass parking lot and have a ******* field day. But then they could harrass you from behind and make you paranoid as s*** about doing something wrong.
I really hate cops.

Another story, I had a copy search my Jetta a few years ago because I had an airfreshener. He said that it was too strong and I was using it to cover up some smells. No s***, but just an air freshener should not be a reason to search a car.

IM sure the level of "tail gating" that was done by the cop is questionable, its not illegal to drive behind someone, and peoples perceptions of someone tailgating is generally only someone behind him closer thain they like (not nessarry "tail gating" ) or the cops could of been too close because there running your plates or something (well withing there rights) & the fact the guy took off is what got you the ticket. (KEEP IN MIND Ive SPENT 6 YEARS INCARCERATED, AND I HAVE NO LOVE FOR COPS (BUT I ALSO KNOW YOUR RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN STUPIDITY)

THE COPS MOST LIKELY DIDNT KNOW YOUR Asian, because they were behind you, and they most likely DOnt think it a asian car because Ive never looked a a car and said "Thats a asian car" lots of Rice cars give a asian feel, but not all rice is asian. Im Irish white, and Ive had quite a bit of trouble with the Law, and I get bulls*** TICKETS LIKE J-walking at 3 oclock in the mourning.
Im not Black, why then is it happening to me?

Is it because Im white? Should I have a "It's because Im White" mentalaty?

Its not your couleur, but how you present yourself and handle yourself.

I learned looking less like a Thug will get me harrassed less by cops (I know its freedom of expression how I dress, and I should be able to dress how ever I want) This is true, but the FACTS are if you dresses like a Pilot people will think your a pilot, if you dress like a doctor, people will think your a doctor, & IF YOU DRESS LIKE A THUG PEOPLE WILL THINK YOUR A THUG, INCLUDING COPS!

AS for your situation, (a Sports car does a high speed pull infront of a unmarked car) why wouldnt you get a ticket, or anybody else who does the same thing?

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR BACKGROUND!

Nuttin to do with speeding or traffic violations. But one time me and 3 friends got stopped by some fuzz when we were walking home. Three patrol cars showed up, and we were made to lie on the ground belly down, and we got searched fully. One thing that we laugh about when we recall this incident, was when my friend got kicked around by one of the fuzz cuz he was trying to roll him over to search him. We were on the ground for a good 30 min before they let us go.

In the end, the explanatioin was this. A group of white boys got jumped by a group of asian kids, whose description resembled us.

I got taken off a bus, by police and they ripped my shirt and held me on the ground in the rain, because "I fit the discription of someone who commited a armed robery. After a half hour of cops walking around talking about s***, I left with a "promis to apear before a Judge" for assault on 2 officers. I ended up pleaing it down to 2 counts of simple assault. I was "Lucky" with 2 700$ fines.

I too am sick of the race card being played. I'm white and I've been pulled over numerous times for dumb s***(headlight out, accelerating too quickly, "road rage", speeding) and i drive an asian made car. s*** happens people, live with it. As it was said before when being tailgated just take your foot off the throttle and let them back off or go around. Don't give cops a reason to pull you over. The more pollite you are to them the less likely they will hassle you and/or give you a ticket.

People need to grow up and take responsibility for their actions...........god damn I've said enough.

LOL, reminds me of the 1st time I saw a white guy get bagged by the cops. It was in front of white castle at like 3am. This white guy was physically sexually harassing these two girls, and someone called the cops. The cops came, and one put his arm on the guys shoulder and was proceeding to lead him into a squad car, but the guy swatted the cop's arm away. Next thing I kno 3 cops were throwing this guy against a squad car and cuffin him.
