Damn Ticket...

I was on my way to work going down Park Row (east to hit HYW 360) in Arlington. At Sherry street, I was looking and checking my intersection, when I looked forward again the light was yellow. I was like s***! I had no idea how long it had been yellow, and it was too late for me to stop, so I hit the gas. Sure enough, as I did, a Arlington PD squad car pulled to the intersection. As I passed, he got behind me, and pulled me over. This guy was ******* ice cold like he was looking for me to do something. This guy had no emotion whatsoever. There was none of the usual, "Good Evening sir, do you know why I pulled you over?" He just said license and insurance please. I got them, and gave them to him. He then said you know you ran a red light don't you. I explained to him what happened, and he then said your inspection is expired also. I had no explanation for that. It totally slipped my mind. He just said I will be back with both sitations. As he gave me the ticket, I asked him if I sign this, what does it mean. He said that it just means that I will follow up in 15 days. After I got the ticket, he was like have a good night. I then asked him, did you just not believe me or something? He just repeated what he said. I asked him again, and he repeated. I turned the key, and continued my trip to work. Why was this guy acting like an ass? Must have been a bad night or some s***. I know it was for me, cause this will definitely **** up my deferred ajudication that I've worked hard not to **** up.

why didn't you give him that "team building" smile of yours and smooth him down ;) just kidding, my friend, just kidding. i know in illinois at least, depending on how far along you are in your probationary ticket range the paperwork moves slow enough that the right hand never tells the left so to speak and the connection is never made, so you might get lucky if your bureaucracy moves like mine does.

Can you do that deal where you take a class and get the ticket removed from your record or the court supervision deal. I know those are both options in IL. Costs a little money, but it keeps the record clean for insurance purposes. Good luck man. Sorry to hear you got nailed.

s***, in wisconsin the cops just PICK A PRICE it seems on the fine, have leeway in deciding the number of "points" its going to "cost" your license and as long as you pay it the record stays clean. no such thing as traffic school.

but when they see an Abe Lincoln license plate you better be doing ten under :( those assholes.

Ah yes, Wisconsin. Land of Cheese, Beer, and Fireworks. Ever hit Lake Geneva?

Sorry, horrid thread jacking going on here.

The same exact thing just happened to me! Only my stuff has a week until it expires :) s***, and it was like 1 am when i went through an intersection as it was yellow and barely changed red. It's not that their ice cold, they have revenues to make. If they really wanted to enoforce safety they'd be out in the open as a detterent and not hiding behind corners and barriers trying to make a buck! At least thats what I think.

some cops are just sick of dealing with all the BS most people give them, that it's hard to weed out the decent people. Not that it makes it any better. I just picked up a couple tickets my self. One for 10 over in a 70mph, and one with 64 in a 35 (oops). And this after 4 years clean

sorry linux, if it was me pulling your over i'd be like, pop your fukken hood NOW!

*gets out shiny new digital camera*

me: SWEET ride. you owe me one!!

:D:D

that sucks man =\

About a week ago, i was so pissed off one night so i went for a drive, and on my way back, maybe i was thinking too hard cuz i wasnt paying attention to what was going on around me and noticed that i was taking the wrong exit, so i went back in the right lane and at the same time i went like "WTF, im going too fast" and like 10sec later i saw the cops were right behind me. So they stopped me and he was like "you know how fast you were going ? I followed you at 150 for over a kilometer and was about to let you go but then you crossed that lane, you know you cant do that right?" (150km/h is almost 95mph). SOOOO ... the lane thing shoulda been 255$ + 3pts (190$ USD) but he didn't give me that ticket ... i did get one for going at 150km/h in a 100km/h zone though. That's 330$ (250$ USD) + 5pts.

That was the 1st time in over a year that i saw a cop on that highway ... it's a 15 mile long straight highway ... ideal to race at night cuz you're basicaly alone. I see alot of people doing 200+ km/h on that highway. But thing is, for once, i said i wasn't gona go fast (at night, 1am+, we usually go at 180). I'm lucky that that was the night i got arrested ... any other night woulda been alot worse.

Anyway, so i know how you feel. It made a pretty big hole in my budget
