OK, so i go out side first thing this morning and low and behold there's a blanket of snow on the ground, there was about 3 inches of snow out. so i go and open my car, grab the snowbrush, turn the car on and turn on the defrost.
Immediately after i turnd the ignition on the wipers turned(forgot they were set to auto) but because there was a layer of snow(wet snow) the blade was basically pinned under the snow, so i immediately turned the wipers off then hopped outside and began scrapping the snow off the windshield, once that was done i turned the wipers back on and the drivers side one was all over the place. i go back out side to see and that arm was basically free-moving now like i could move it up and down the windhield(thats not normal right?) with nothing holding it in place. like it should. So the passenger side is fine and the driver still goes up it just either goes half way, or even too far like over the side of the windhield.
CLEARLY IT MESSE IT UP, if it was regualr fluffy snow or a real thin layer it would have been fine but because it was slightly wet snow it put alot of weigh/strain on the wipers, the question now is how bad is it? did i possibly strip something in the arm assembly or is it something else?is this hard to get at to fix myself? any help tips advice much appreciated, its rain in the forcast for the next few days so i gotta fix it asap.
thanks in advanced
ps: yes i did try to search this sort of topic, and yes i know i shoud've scraped the snow off first before i turned the car on, i feel like an idiot!
