I was driving local today, and in front of me was traffic, so I slowed down. As I was like 2 feet away from the traffic source (minor car accident) I heard this "boom" and felt my car jerk forward!!! F*#@! :wtf: ... An old guy rear ended me and took out my rear driver's side light and scratched up my bumper pretty bad...I ain't feeling good now cuz my babe is hurt :'(
I'm alright though... I was rollin really slow....so...
I love my P5 and I know all of you who love your Proteges...it hurts to see "our babes" hurt.... take care and drive safe.

I'm going in tomorrow to have it estimated... thinking about getting the "carbon fiber" rear lights ... Oh...the guy's mini van was a '96 Nissan Quest, he busted his front passenger signal lights and screwed up his bumper!!! And my P5 was only scratched!! These Mazdas are made well!!! Ya!

wow that does suck. Is there any paint damage or can that plastic buff clean? If the finish on the bumper is okay you may get away with just replacing the tail light. Sorry, bud, I know it hurts. Had my ride damaged today also

Sorry to hear about your car too... , r u alright?...hope u didn't get hurt... some of the paint chipped off..so it will need to be repainted... ...just hate the freakin hassle of leaving the car, having someone pick me up to take me to a car rental place...bla bla bla...

damn..he better pay!! He rear ended me...he was an ok guy..in his early 50s I assume. He asked that I don't report it to the police... so he'd better pay up...I let him off really really easy... as long as no one got hurt...money will solve this problem, just a little troublesome...

I feel ya when it comes to leaving your car.

It also never seems to be right after having anything major replaced but atleast a bumper is a pretty simple fix unlike the trunk.

Well good thing no one hurt and GOOD thing that the rear side panel was not damage. That will normally total a car like this since it is built into the roof sheet metal, unless they can bondo it.
But looks like they should be able to get your car nicely fixed up, plus with upgrades

The funny thing is I wasn't pissed when i got hit ...I guess I was just shocked. Immediately I thought about "carbon fiber-look rear lights"!!!

Im sorry your poor car is suffering. Mine is in much more pain at the moment. I took a corner to hard and hit fence and curb. Destroyed the front bumper, front fender, scratched the body molding, rear rim, both drivers side doors, and broke the driverside axel. And in typical car insurance repair form the shop is dragging their asses!!!! ITs killing me not having my car. Bottom line, thank god it wasnt to bad.

Lava - too bad he didn't take out that decal on your gas tank, that thing is ghey IMO. Just be glad that the dude's paying for it and that nobody got hurt. And the carbon fiber lights would go well with that gas tank sticker, get some APC ones... and a mugen sticker .

glad to see that u are ok and the damage doesnt look that bad thank god but $ $ for the eyes is funny maybe the cost is around 3-4 hundred depending on where u go and who u know but carbon tail lights on ur car with those sweet rims would look tight!!!

It aint like that ...I'm asking that he paid for everything that I WANT!!! haha....no...just want him to pay for a new light and paint my bumper, and car rental for a couple of days...that's all. That ain't asking for too much, right?!!! I figured that an OEM light ain't cheap, possibly over $100.00? I don't know, I'm gonna call Mazda now for the price, but if it's over $100, why not upgrade to the carbon-fiber look for $150 shipped...damn..I'll pay the difference if I have to...

Well...he did hit ME from behind...so..no question about who's at fault. I ain't talkin about you, but I know some people are afraid to go for what they really want because they are too worried about how "others" might think "it's ghey". But don't take it personally, I respect your opinion, but I wished others would just do what they really want and don't be afraid to be "different".... IMO

sorry to hear about your accident. Glad you are OK though. Now that you are getting them to pay for it, have them buy you a mintblue bumper or something. That's what Iam gonna end up doing when I finally get around to gettting my car fixed.
