My brother is a cop. He says you can get a ticket for whatever else they might find [wrong/illegal] in your car, even if they dont give you a ticket for the initial reason they stop you for as long as they take action about it. In your case, she gave you a warning; that is like a ticket, she is warning you. However; you can still get out of it by proving that it wasn't remotely close to loud, etc. If the ticket isn't for much money or if she isn't a real b****, she won't show up for court and your ticket might get removed or discounted.

Im a cop I know how this stuff works.

bu11dogg2- Your absolutely right. Like if they pulled you over for a busted tail light, and then they search your car and find some weed for example, the weed cannot be admitted into evidence.

Now, replace the word weed with exhaust. She couldn;t give you a ticket for a different reason other than the exhaust in this case.
Make sure you talk to more people, then take her to court just for the hell of it. Teach that b**** a lesson

police dont have to give a warning or a summons when you are pulled over for breaking a law.. and she does have a right to pull you over for loud exhaust and can break you balls for it.. even if she didnt give you a warning for the exhaust like she did.. she still has 30 days from the initial stop to issue a summons.. so if you were to fight the piddly $100 tint ticket.. she could issue the exhaust ticket as well.. my father is a police officer.. and im in the academy to become a police officer.. i know ALOT about the law and title 39 for motor vehicle offenses.. honestly.. id just mail a check for the tint and cut your losses.. youll end up spending more time and wasting more money fighting everything..

The warning for the exhaust is probably BS, but if you knew you had illegal tint why are you surprized you got ticketed for it? Take off the tint before you go to court and they'll probably throw out the fine.

I saw this and wanted to share a story about an incident that occured last summer. In the Spring of 2005 my car was stolen I filed my report and did and made sure the police and my insurance company had all my info. The car was found about a week later stereo system gone. So we had all the damage repaired and most of the equipment replaced. In August I was driving home from work when a cop car pulls in behind me and starts runnning my plates. We come to a busy intersection I see two more cop cars across the intersection. The lights go on for all three cruisers, I am tucked inbehind two vans so I am not going anywhere. Then I noticed they were coming my way tasers drawn, I was hauled out of my car handcuffed and stuffed in the backseat of one of the cruisers. The officers kept ignoring me and wouldn't let me explain what must have happened. They preformed a search in my car and hauled me down to the station.

Best part of all this is according to my laywer and the nice man from internal affairs told me there was going to be no way to hold anyone accountable, due to "probable cause".

Whoever said she did not have probable cause needs to stop watching TV and strat paying attention. Police do NOT need probable cause. We gave that up several years ago.

If you knew your tint was illeagal, why are you complaining?

Shiney you've got it just right. Someday they'll need a police officer and be damned glad when one shows up. To be fair, the thread starter did clarify with "at least dickhead cops". Things went down hill from there.
When you guys push the limits with tint, stupid fart cans and speed, you need to remember that SOMETIMES law enforcement will be there to catch you. Other times not. When you do your job (if you have one) do you do it right or just the part you like? To the guy in Louisiana :bs:

I try not to hate anyone. I feel better that way. Are you saying that it is not against the law to speed in Louisiana? I thought there were laws in every state about speed.
