Damaged MS Racing Hart rims

I was on this really dark road and I hit something...I thought it was a dog or dead body at first becasue it didn't sound like hitting a curb. I always make sure to do wide turns so I wouldn't **** up my rims. I found out that I did hit something and the edge/lip of my rims have been scraped/shaven off alittle. I guess its not that bad but I am super pissed! You can't really see it from far away but you can see it up close.

What should I do? Does Mazda bumper to bumper warrenty cover this or is that only for defects. If not where can I get these MSProtege Race Hart Rims? They are probally going to set me back like $600 right? I guess its not a serious problem but obviously I would like to get it fixed.

Like I said, Its a minor scratch. There are actually two places but couldn't get them on one pic (or you'll won't see it). Its engough to damage this "Racing Hart." Enough to make me run home and cry to mommy. Its not serious damage but I got really pissed at myself! Thanks for the support! And I probally can get it fixed but it wont be the same!

That sucks bro sorry to here that good luck with it

Mazda won't cover it under warranty. Also, depending on how bad the scrape is you might be able to repair it...can u put up some pics of the damage?

You have a better shot of walking on water before Mazda pays for a new wheel. Your best bet might be to buy a good wheel off another board member.

Its okay chances are I'm probally not going to do anything, becasue I'm the dumbass that ****** it up. Those Racing Harts are beatiful rims...are they heavy? I was looking online for MS rims and all I could find are the MS-touring rims. Which looks nice but I dont have the money to buy a set of those. I would have to sell the MS Racing Hart rims and who would want damaged rims? I like these Racing Hart alot!

I agree and they are limited production wheels also they only sell them for the Mazda Speed

Yeah, thats the only problem is finding paint...but at least you could smooth the scrapes down some till u find the right paint..

OUCH!

That link below is nice to look at but holy cow! Under my car ( Familia Wagon ) the head listed is $1270 CAD. How does anyone there fix up their cars?

I wonder if there is a certain paint code or something specific to the MSP's Racing Harts...

Another problem is that its right on the edge so getting it even with that putty is going to be hard. I'm going to have shop around for places that reapir this stuff. And if they rip me off I'm going to try and do it myself. If its sussesful I'll post. The rims on that site kinda slope twords the center, so he had it easy. eh,,,what a headache.

Well I know there are specialty shops that do wheel refinishing, etc...just have to shop around...good luck.

dude that scrape aint s***. I was pulling into a parking spot, kinda tight squeeze, and the curb was a really tiny one, well needless to say I hit it and rubbed a foot long scratch on the damn thing. It looks 1000x's worse than yours. The good news is your dealership sells replacements, I think even individually. They have mazdaspeed part brochures now and the rims are listed.

How much are the replacements? I think it would be fairly expensive. Well I know my scratch isnt bad but you hate to see scraches/scrapes on these rims.

Welcome to the world of nice rims. I'm ALWAYS scared for my rims when I drive, and when the woman take the car......oh my.

I haven't seen the price for the 2003.5 wheels yet. the 2003 wheels are available to buy and aren't cheap at all. So the 2003.5 has to be at aleast that. some Canadians have gotten quoted 600-700 EACH rim. Although I think I've seen them online for just under 300 US.

Good luck, but I'd say your stuck.

Yeah I curbed my rim not to long ago. Worse than yours. Same thing but a few deep scratches and tehn some scrapes just like yours. I was so pissed when it happened. But I am over it now, nobody has even noticed it except for teh 2 peopel that were in ym car when I did it.

powder coating the 2003.5 wheels is not going to be easy. that hyper silver, mirror like finish is going to be hard to match
