I was asking the shop who installed the remote start/security alarm on my Trailblazer SS if they would install the same system on my MS3. The one girl said "No way, too much liability". But the owner told me there was a Directed Electronics kit (689M) module that allows you to safely remote start a manual. I haven't been able to get a whole lot of experience with how it works, but it says it's a "Safety Neutral Module". And another website said that before you turn your car off, you activate the remote start to keep your ignition running. Once you've done that, you can turn off the engine using the remote control and lock your doors. The module is activated to start the next time using remote start.
So basically, if you know your car is going to sit somewhere for a little while, or you're done driving for the day, the last thing you do is activate the remote start so the computer is registering that it's safe to remote start next time.
Anyone knew about this? I tried searching and came up with nothing. But once I do get my MS3, I will be ordering this module and having them install my clifford 50.5x system on the MS3.
