CX9 key fobs

Hello to all,

Have a 2009 CX9 w 83K. Have both fobs and replaced both w new 2025 batteries, positive side up. However, they just do not seem to have the crips and quick remote opening and closing of the locks anymore. I have to squeeze or pinch the fob to get the key to remotely open or close the locks...have others experienced this? If so, are there any work-arounds or something I can do to get the keys to work properly, or is this a thing w age.

Ok guys, going to dealer today at 4PM CST so I need some ammunition before I see them...any thoughts? Where is Ceric ?

It is either the weak battery (probably old the shelf for too long) or bad contact.

You actually answered that could be the problem...I am confident the batteries are good. I was just seeking the boards experiences to determine if others with 3-4 yr old fobs also go bad or is mine a more isolated problem?
