cx racing fmic

Hey Subie,
What did you do by the way with the 2nd nipple on the BOV? Did you leave it as is or closed it somehow?
Thanks!

Finally got around to installing the FMIC here are some pics. One shows where I mounted the air temperature sensor that was in the bumper. I just ended up bending the bracket that it was originally on in order to make it work in the new area.

Would either of you guys mind sending me images of the extra brackets you got? The only thing I can think of is that they may have sent you brackets to relocate the power steering lines like the Cobb unit comes with... also, those brackets dont look like anything more than aluminum stock bent right, should be no issue to have them fabbed up for you from someone local to you guys, but for what its worth, 2 should be fine... have had the Cobb unit on my car since late 09, it only has 2 brackets that hold the core, and I've never had any issues whatsoever, and theyre on the sides not the top or bottom.

Do you have to use the short CAI or can I continue to use the Longer CAI that is located in the front left wheel well.

Tazman, here's how it fits with Injen CAI

Sorry, it is dirty there, will wash my motor when it gets warmer.

Here is overall view. By the way, I received all the brackets needed, though I didn't use lowers, as it fits tightly even without them.

There is small problem with european Mazdaspeed (known here as MPS), the bracket has to be modifeid slightly as we have slightly different bumper reinforcement construction.

Thanks for the pics, I ask the guy who works on my car about the front mount and his recommendation is that I only use the FMIC if I upgrade to a bigger turbo, seeing how the stock K04 can't handle the introduction of the increase air flow. Who he explained it the inlet wheel is to small and not meant to spin under the load from the FMIC. The Stock TMIC is a direct match for the size of the Turbo. The end result of adding a FMIC to the stock Turbo is going to be a smoking Turbo after the bearing gets spun.

Increased airflow when installing just a fmic is a myth actually. Also FMIC can't force turbo to break until you sutck-close your BOV :)

i recently posted a thread about top mounts and fronts and was curious if this kit would still be useable with my fujita CAI and if i could still run my turbosmart dual port BOV? if youd let me know id appreciate it very much so .

Hey!
As you saw may be, it has zero fit issues with my Injen CAI, so I believe it'd have no problems with Fujita also!
Then, this kit will fit ANY stock-style or Greddy-style BOVs/BPVs. Injen, Turbosmart, Greddy, so forth... Turbosmart also, if you've put it on stock holes!
