CX-70 In-Car Wi-Fi?

Evidently, my new CX70 comes with a 3 month free trial of in-car Wifi through AT&T. I'm an AT&T customer, so I thought cool, let's try to set it up. Following the directions in the App, which is evidently required to help make the service work, you're informed you need to disconnect from Wireless Apple CarPlay, then you go through the steps, which never completed when it came to verifying the account.

From what I can gather, it appears you can use Wifi, ONLY if you don't use Apple CarPlay, which doesn't make sense to me. If true, I'll just skip setting up the service altogether. Has anyone actually successfully turned on the Wifi service in their CX70 and if you have successfully turned it on, is my assumption correct that you can either have in-car Wifi or Apple CarPlay, but not both at the same time?

I’m guessing you get the one WiFi antenna and that’s it! I think most car makes are like this!

I called Mazda to inquire and if you want to use Apple CarPlay wirelessly, you can't also have Wifi on at the same time. You can use CarPlay wired and have Wifi enabled at the same time. I'd rather have wireless CarPlay than have Wifi in the car, so it's not a feature I will be paying for. I have unlimited data on my iPhone anyway.
