Wouldn't your insurance cover repairs?

Vince.

it's not worth it

Making a claim with your insurance for anything that's not a collision is asking for a premium hike or a cancellation. With the deductible and the negative marks you just placed on your insurance record, I'll pay for it out of pocket.

So, how did the tail light get smashed?

Vince.

If I was in your shoes, I'd be pissed! Not much you can do, except suck it up and pay the bill (argh)

Peace! V.

I think you have it backwards. Claiming collisions is what hikes up your rates since they're a result of your own bad driving, thus indicating that you are a risk to insure. Having your car vandalized is only a reflection of bad luck, not your risk to insure.

That being said, I hope you had the police write up a vandalism report, else your insurance company is likely to consider it a collision claim since you can't prove that you didn't just back into something.

To answer your question though, keep an eye on eBay. You'll occassionally find spare CX-7 parts on there.

I've had collision claims without any increase in rates. Too many within a certain timefram though and they start to think about cancellling your policy.
