Seriously. What car has a trash can? I have never been in one that did, nor did any of the vehicles in Ford or Mercury's line-up in 2005 when I worked for them.

Candy wrappers, old receipts, and napkins with chicks' phone numbers go into my pockets. Old Banana peels and empty plastic bottles go into the flux capacitor.

Just picked up a 2014 Gt and the one thing I miss from my Fusion is the storage space. The Fusion had 2 separate compartments in the armrest (top and bottom) as well as the flip top above the stereo. Gave plenty of places for random stuff like sunglasses, change, etc. The CX5 just has the one in the armrest and that's it. The opening to the left of the steering wheel is worthless and the opening under the climate controls would be better with a door on it, although it is a good place to stash my phone/keys while driving.

My old toyota 4runner had a lift up trash bag holder built in to the front armrest/console. It was actually pretty neat.

I use the driver side door and clean it out when I fill up at the pump. Receipts, wrappers, scratchers, extra straws, napkins all go in that door cubby.

much like that pic of the Toyota I place a small collapsible trash bin on the hump between the two back seats. It's got Velcro on the bottom to keep in place, the inside is that waterproof rubber vinyl stuff and the bottom is filled with sand to weight it done. I'm sure there's something on amazon that is similar. I mostly use that for longer trips with the family so I have a spot to put the trash that two children generate, which is a surprising amount at times.

My volvo had a trash/garbage/ashtray compartment behind the center console. I guess I miss it.
