2013~2016: CX-5 Transfer Case, Front Differential part questions

I'm looking at parts for a 2014 Mazda cx5 sport on the Mazda parts website and it is labeling the front differential and the transfer case as the same thing. Are they the same thing? If not where is the transfer case. I already changed the fluid for the rear differential now I want to change fluid for transfer case and front diff, assuming they are different. Thanks.

Yeah about half of the early Skyactivs we overhaul need a new case half, the bearing fails and allows the geartrain to move around too much, it makes a bunch of metal and then eventually causes transmission failure. The FLZ number you posted is likely a serial number vs the part number.
The two attached pictures are the part in the case the bearing race is pressed in and then the second is showing the damaged bearing.

The third picture shows where the transmission Identification sticker is on the case. Salvage yards generally do a decent job of cataloging. If you can post a picture of your original sticker off the transmission in your CX and then a picture off of the replacement unit I can look at it to see compatibility.
Well... Unfortunately the ink wore off of the sticker on the transmission I bought.. I wonder if Mazda would provide a "build sheet" that lists all the p/n's assembled on that vehicle?? I have also read that the transmissions from 2014 thru 2016 CX5 are the same. But I don't take internet information as being accurate without the ability to verify.. I really appreciate your help...

If it helps I have the VIN's for the cars to identify if transmissions are compatible:
my 2016 cx5 Sport VIN: JM3KE4BY3G0660247
salvaged 2015 cx5 Sport VIN: JM3KE4BY5F0511319

After more investigating I thought I would post what I decided to do about my transmission issue.

This link: VIN Decoder gave me a little more detail about the 2 transmissions I am comparing.

In Summary: I have a whining noise coming from front end diagnosed as "damaged bearing in the transaxle due to improper configuration" (see Mazda TSB 05-005/20).

I went on some information that "SPECIFICALLY" 2014 THRU 2016 Mazda CX-5 2.5L AWD SPORT MODEL with SKYACTIVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS are the same. I compared the 2 VIN numbers from the Mazda website shown above and according to the specifications given on the report, the transmissions have the same values.

So I purchased a 2015 transmission from a salvage yard and decided to have it installed which will be done next week. I will make a point to report back after the install and let the forum know how I made out. Fingers crossed...
