2013~2016 CX-5 HVAC stopped blowing

Recently had the blower motor fail in my 2016.5 CX-5. Replaced with a VDO/Continental unit from RockAuto. Works great.

In my case, the temperature control still showed it was creating hot/cold air from the system (easily found 'leaking' from the vents when at highway speed). It just wasn't blowing that air into the cabin. I installed the new blower, along with the two heater/AC related fuses in the engine bay's fuse block. Those fuses weren't "blown", but all the fuses in the engine bay's unit were showing signs of age and being fragile, so I replaced them with OEM new fuses.
Is the new blower unit quiet like the original OEM?

For my own 2016.5's original OEM factory unit, it had this annoying faint 'ticking' sound during operation at any speed. My original blower motor never was silent.

This new aftermarket (VDO/Continental) one: nearly silent, in terms of any 'ticking' sound and any particular sound while operating, other than the rushing/blowing air of course. Though, it does have a louder 'whirring' sound when the heater/blower is turned off and it's winding down. Not a terrible sound, but distinctive.

This new unit is working nicely. I like it.

No idea about its durability, but hopefully it'll last many years. I see no reason why not, but you never know.
