2013~2016 CX-5 HD Radio. USB inoperative

Hello CX-5ers,

I bought a sexy '13 CX-5 and enjoying it. The USB, CD AUX is not highlighted.
Has the head unit failed or these are an option?

Try inserting a flash drive formatted to FAT32 with a music file. See if it then highlights and plays the music.

In Youtube somebody showed how to fix this by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few seconds and then reconnecting it back. Or you can disconnect the fuse for the entertainment system for a few seconds too. This is not a permanent fix however.

If there's nothing in the socket it won't be highlighted.

It looks like an aftermarket radio. Did the parking brake connection become unconnected?

It's not aftermarket, it's what the system used to look like pre MZD system
