4 little black screws hold the custom trimmed black screen material in place.
This time of year we are dodging tumble weeds here and I end up cleaning scraps away when I get home. It even slowed a small 'rock' down enough to prevent damage to the IC...

They have that grill material on Amazon, various size and gauge of the wire grid. Did you have to remove the front bumper, or any of that stuff?

I saw a tumbleweed down in New Mexico that was about the size of a car. Nobody hit it before it blew off the other side of the highway, on its way to wherever tumbleweeds end up, probably in somebody's yard.

No need to remove anything, is pretty easy to do...
In the winter here, the city gathers the largest ones to make a tumbleweed snowman!

I just bought two 'CDEFG' brand CX-5 lower grille cover sets on Amazon for about $100. I plan to install one set and then cut the other set to
create two pieces that fill the center license plate gap. I saw some pictures of someone who did this and it looked good. The covers are very sturdy gloss black ABS and should hold up really well.

You would think that someone would manufacture a one-piece lower grill for all those cars. I certainly do not want to buy two sets of partial grills and then have to use a saw to cobble up a four-piece contraption.

I wondered the same. The design is great oem match but I dont have front plate too.

Based on my research they make them in China (and sell there super cheap) and started with CX-30 so no wonder pretty much rest of the world have longer plates and both front and rear...Most Chinese probably don't even know we don't have front plates

I've written to three manufacturers who make the two-piece inserts and informed them of the large numbers of CX-5 owners in North America who are wanting one-piece inserts that fit the entire width of the lower grill. One manufaturer just wrote back and told me that he will be working on bringing a one-piece to market.

I bought a 40"x12" piece of black mesh for about $15... I haven't installed it yet but it seems like it should help protect the radiator.
No grill shutters yet.

Finished the install and in spite of having to hack two pieces from a second set to cover the center opening, it didn't turn out too badly. The only thing that I don't like is a space dead center that can't be avoided due to the OEM supports sliding into a groove in the new pieces. Show me a better solution?
