CX-5 Fuel Leak Recall and Stop Sale

While checking out the fuel recall I found this (may already be a thread here):

Manufacturer: PILKINGTON NORTH AMERICA, INC.

SUMMARY:
Pilkington North America, Inc. (Pilkington) is recalling certain replacement windshields, model FW04026 GTY, manufactured November 23, 2015, to December 16, 2015 for use in Mazda CX-5 vehicles that are equipped with the Smart City Brake Support system. The affected windshields have a bracket mounted on the inside to hold a laser sensor or LIDAR device for the Smart City Brake Support system. These brackets were improperly affixed with only tape instead of tape and urethane and therefore may loosen.
CONSEQUENCE:
If the bracket loosens or detaches from the windshield, the safety features of the Smart City Brake Support system may be disabled and therefore increase the risk of a crash.
REMEDY:
Pilkington will contact the wholesalers and retailers that purchased the windshields to try to identify the affected customers. The affected windshields will be replaced, free of charge. This recall is expected to begin on February 12, 2016. Owners may contact Pilkington at 1-844-278-7230.
NOTES:
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Keyword there is "replacement". It's for people whose windshields were replaced with glass made by that manufacturer. Seems to be confusion in the other thread about this.

Do you think they will authorize loaners for all affected vehicles? Or is it up to each dealer?
I think it's unlikely that they would offer loaners unless the customers made a huge scene about the issue. Due to the large volume of vehicles effected it seems extremely difficult to accommodate that many people. Plus the more time spent organizing vehicles for customers makes for a less organized repair procedure.

Most Mazda dealers in Socal are telling me that they have already completed the fix on new CX-5 vehicles on the lot and there is no longer a stop-sale. ...

Ref ********RECALL********Just got back from the dealership in Fort Lauderdale they replace the bolt that holds the bracket for the filler tube they replaced it with a shorter bolt the original one supposedly was too long.

I'm glad the fix is so simple.

Now I can finally fall asleep! I've been up for days worrying about this! (rofl2)

I was told that they take the bolt out, run some teflon tape on it, reinsert it and then spray some undercoat on the assembly. Will pick mine up tonight.

Happy I didn't rush into this, there seems to be about as many different fixes as there are dealerships right now!

Just called the dealer that I bought mine from and it doesn't seem like they have gotten the parts to start working on the fix yet.

Called the dealership about the recall this morning- they saw me today for the fix! Only took about 30 minutes- I was back on the road in no time (drive)!

Was at a Mazda dealer today - The repair bulletin is out since 2/1 - simple, fast fix.

Maybe in Canada the laws and regulations delayed it slightly then?

I went in for an oil change this morning, and right away she said there was a recall for my car and would I mind if they went ahead and fixed it, and it would take less than an hour.
I also had to sign some invoice saying the dealer was charging Mazda INC for the work done.

Have the recall done at the dealer while doing an oil change. The writer told me it's just taking out a bolt, and add a washer-like part. 15 min work.

Hmmmm, I have not received recall notice yet and my dealer says they cannot do fix until I get the notice. They say notices should be sent out within two weeks. Does that sound right because it seems some folks are already getting the fix done.
