Alright fellos I need some serious advise I went to a local performance and I told him I wanted to get new springs with the tokicos struts I have Eibachs now and it's 1.4 front 1.2 back
he said that is probably the best springs in the market and should not get anything else, but I told him I want my car to be at least lowered more and he advise that to cut the Eibach Springs to a lower stance so now I 'm thinking about that would that be a good idea or bad and this place is really well known and do good jobs.
Well my concern is if it's possible and maybe he is right because he is not ripping me off, if he was then he would sold me a cheaper brand like goldline or cheap brands and he said if i bought the tokico struts from him he will cut the eibach springs for free you guys think I should do it?

cutting springs is the most ghetto way to screw up your handling....whatever shop told you to do this should be forced to close it's doors.

Do NOT let them do anything else to yoru car.

go and buy some Tein S-tech springs.

wow, i would run as far away from that shop as i can. that's the biggest load of hogwash i've ever heard, especially from any competent speed shop.

well I guess if you cut off part of the softer end since they are progressive it wouldn't be as bad as cutting down linear springs, but I wouldn't do it.

WOW. i cant believe a shop would give such half-assed, idiotic advise such as cutting springs. i would never-ever take my car to a shop that would offer to do such a thing. i would also tell anyone i know to stay clear of that place.

HYPERSPORT? I THOUGHT THEY DID STREET BIKES?

THEY'RE NEXT TO LEFTY'S TATTOO AND 7-11 RIGHT?

MAN, THATS NOT GOOD ADVICE. WHY NOT GET SOME COILOVERS LIKE SKUNK2 OR GROUND CONTROL? YOU CAN DROP UP TO ABOUT 3 INCHES OR MORE... I HEAR SPRINT SPRINGS ARE A 2 IN. DROP ALL AROUND TOO...

GO TALK TO THE GUYS AT PANN AUTO OFF OF CLAIREMONT MESA...
7960 Ronson Rd.
(858) 278-PANN

THEY'VE BEEN AROUND FOR A LOOOONG TIME, AND IN THE AUTOMOTIVE PERFORMANCE BUSINESS, LONGETIVITY IS A GOOD SIGN OF QUALITY WORK

if you plan on dropping 2" + you'll need to get camber correction kits and a full alignment.

nah! i like my wheels to bow out at a 45 degree angle (smash)

you'd be surprised. I had one of my cars dial in a bunch of camber so I could pound the corners real hard...I went through tires every oil change but I could hang with the best of them!

men I just want my car to look nice and since they got tokico out finally I want to drop it a little bit lower enough to not rub or mess up anything in my car because now my car is making lound crunking noises and it's either the springs or struts

never ever cut the springs if you want it done right take it to the guys who know about protege's not some honda shop www.spdracing.com

A good shop, whether they specialize in Hondas or Mazdas, should know not to cut springs. It's not like Mazdas are some completely different type of machine from Hondas. They're all just cars.

Man -- has any of you that is bashing the cutting of the springs ever done it -- you make it sound like its a crime --- it is not --

if done properly, they will work just fine -- they do not damage anything and just so you know this is just my opinion -- but its allso from my personal experience -- i have been driving low riders for 15 years and all that had springs were cut ( The Right Way ) --

every person that road in my cars or trucks didnt notice anything wrong and some didnt believe me when i told them they were cut -- but they were - hehehehe --

but thats all -- and no need to bash me -- theres plenty already in here -- lol (drinks)

the tein S will give u an uneven drop. they lower more, but the rear will be higher

get some coilovers!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know about the sedans but the rear on the P5 sits a little lower so the "uneven drop" levels it out a bit
