cutting bumpstops

Just wondering if cutting the bumpstops is necessary or makes a difference with ride height when lowering with tokico struts.

I noticed that after i had my tokico illumina installed with H&R springs, my front is slightly higher than when it was running with stock struts.

could the bumpstops being causing the height to be higher?

The settings on the illuminas shouldnt make any differancs in ride hight, I bet if you measure from the top of the strut cylinder to the spring perch on both struts you will find that the Illuminas are slightly closer to the top of the cylinder thus the slightly higher ride hight . I found this was the case with my HP's

i was thinking maybe they were set so high that the springs werent able to decompress enough, but then i thought it over and that only happens when you hit too many bumps.... kinda.....

i was also thinking if he went from msp springs to aftermarket it would do that but he has a p5

I cut mine same amount as it was lowered (1.3") using factory struts to get travel back & lessen the slam effect on bumps. You can get the MP3 or MSP bump stops, can't remember which & those are shorter & made out of rubber not foam. They run around 12.00 each or so from dealer. I'm going with those whenever the illuminas crawl out of their boxes & arrive at their preassigned work stations.

msp s*** is the same as the mp3... doesn't matter..... and they're made of urethane
