This may be kind of a newbie thing so forgive my ignorance but how difficult will the install be? I successfully installed the Sebring SC on my '90 Miata along with the JR pipes, cat and catback exhaust (took me a long weekend). Compared to that how hard do you think this will this be? Should I make good friends with my master mechanic neighbor ?
If you installed a J/R supercharger than you can defintly install a turbo. I think its easier myself, only thing that is tricky is to run th oil lines and tap the oil pan. Jackson says that there kits can be installed within 6hrs. Realisticly one of there kits will take a first timer about 8-10 hrs, figure my kit will take about 2 more hours. Or another option is my slightly and gently USED turbo system from my personel car. I just emailed someone about it:
It utliizes a mitsubishi 16g ballbearing turbo(like the one in the greddy kits) A greddy Blow off valve and A link managment system that takes 5 minutes to install, also includes the keypad, boost control solenoid and injector holder, with 4 addtnl injectors, and high flow fuel rail with stainless fuel lines, msd fuel pump, anodized fuel connectors, aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and nos liquid filled fuel pressure guage.
It has a huge frount mount intercooler, tubular race spec turbo header, hks super dragger cat back exhaust, act clutch brand new, greddy egt gauge, boost gauge and air fuel gauge with custom carbon fiber mounting. And a everything else to make a full complete system. If you are in the south florida are, I can give you a test ride in it before you purchase to see the potency of this system.....this is not a cheapy turbo kit but a full programmable state of the art turbo intercooled system that works flawlessly.
As for carb certification.......thats not feasble right now and you can use a stok exhaust but I reccomend a 3 inch exhaust.
You will only lose the primary cat in the header but you will still utilize the secondar cat under the car.
