Anyone done a custom sub enclosure for the MS6 yet? (or any 6 sedan) I just installed my sub in a generic box that i had sitting in my basement, and I dont really like it...just looking for ideas here :D

my thought is to use the area all the way up to the back seat, and just build a shallow box there...but if i'm gonna do that i should just buy a truck box..

There is nothing special about the Mazda6 as far as installing subwoofers. Just about any midsize sedan custom install could be duplicated in your trunk.

It depends on how "custom" you want to go. If you are familiar with working with fiberglass people have removed the spare tire and installed subwoofers there. People have also installed subwoofers in one side of the trunk by using fiberglass to mold the box perfectly to the panels.

If fiberglass isn't your thing, you can certainly create a box that sits up against the rear seats. For the best results, the sub should fire backward (into the trunk) instead of forward (into the seat). That means a truck box will not be ideal.

thats the one i made for the Protege. I'm just looking for ideas on where to place one in the 6.
my thought is to use this piece:

and mold it into that spot. once again it will be for a single 12" sub. the one i have needs 5.5" of mounting depth. this area is 4" deep, so bumping the front out an inch and a half, then sloping back to the outside edges should put me at about 1.25 cuft (if my calculations are correct)
