custom intake

Hi all, I don't feel like paying out the dough for a nice looking intake so I was wondering how to make one for cheap, and custom!!!

If you have to ask, it's probably better not to mess around underneath your hood. Spend the extra money and buy something that looks good and works like it should.

However, it's always fun to poke around and experiment under there... just be careful. ABS plastic at Home Depot works well for intake piping, and a K&N cone filter can be purchased at any auto parts store. Be sure to keep the MAS and temp. sensor connected.

I custom made mine exactly like the Injen. 2.5" mandrel bent pipes. My opinion is that 3" is too big for this motor. The MHP is 3". If you do a search in the photo album for Ben's MP3, you will see the pics of it. And by the way, it is very good quality. It only cost me about $90. But a lot of time.

I made a CAI from Mandrel bends too before I went turbo. I used an HKS filter element though so it ran me all in all about 140 bucks. The filter alone was close to 100 dollars....but you gotta love HKS - High Kost s***

i made one for my car

I made an intake for my car...kinda ghetto but it works and sounds good...get a cone filter, remove ALL of the intake piping, you have to mve the oxygen sensor back a little but, and the air temp thermometor is hanging right next ot it, it works real welll...i can feel it above 70 MPH and in 5th especially. Goodlucjk
