custom intake materials?

i'm looking into trying to build myself a custom intake for my msp. does anyone know where i can get aluminum piping? i also thought about using pvc piping but i read somewhere that this is bad for the engine for some reason....true or not?

under heat, PVC will supposedly release gasses harmful to the combustion of your engine (although i believe the heat required is near melting temp)

hmmm...those all seem like really big corporations. would they even consider doing 1 bend? also, the max operating temp of pvc is about 140 F.....umm...how hot does it get under an msp hood?

they are big, i agree..

but if you find one of their distributors, i'm sure they'd gladly help the end user.

you may even be able to get a small kit made up..

big corporations sometimes take time to help out the little guy.. For instance..

within 3 weeks, they had them for sale..

Try your local Midas. They have all the materials to actually make an CAI, along w/ the aluminum. Just give them your specs...and they should be able to do the rest.
