Black Mica MS3
I have a mechanic who was thinking about doing a custom front mount for my MS3. I"m cool with it but I was just wondering could there be any downsides to me doing this?

None, as long there is no air leaks and piping is the correct size, you should by fine. Keep us posted how it goes.

Air has longer distance to travel. Spool up takes a tad longer maybe? Must use SRI due to space.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. Money can be spent on CPE standback/Cobb AP or figuring out a suspension combination that removes all wheel hop. No point in adding power if wheel hop keeps you from using it.

I got very minor mods and wheel hop is killing me. Motor mount and springs are probably next, but still researching...

Id stick with aftermarket tmic so your spool is still good, and they seem to make more whp anyhow. I hate the piping on the ms3 when you have an fmic. Looks stupid.

the downside to making a custom FMIC is that they usually cost alot more then the name brand companies FMIC kits. If they are cheaper, they are probably a lot less efficient, will slow down spool, and are probably purchased as universal kits on ebay. If your going to go custom, buy aluminum piping and get the ends rolled, 4 ply silicone couplers, t-bolt clamps and a good core like spearco
