custom exhaust

i have been contemplating redoing my exhaust. currently i have a racing mazda header and the rest of it is pieced together from various pipes. since the header i have is made for an mx-6 the end of it sits to far back to install any aftermarket system that is made for the protege5, unless i cut out a section of the aftermarket system to make it short enough. another option i have is to take it to a midas or meineke to bend up a system for me. i really don't want to take it there because i don't think they use mandrel benders. and the third option is to get a header that is made for the car (don't really want to) and not worry about cutting an aftermarket exhaust

Bring it to a good speed shop, and they can either a) weld you one up from prebent mandrel bends or b) bend you one on an mandrel bender. The key is to avoid crush bent!

i agree, i don't want crush bent, its detrimental to performance and it looks like crud
