CS downpipe help

So, I installed the corksport downpipe last week and got a CEL soon after. Anyone installed this pipe and had the same problem? I don't have an OBDII reader, so just wondering if it's something I can fix.

did you put the 02 sensor directly back in the pipe. you probably need and 02 extension or defoulers, to get the sensor out of the rich air stream.

When I installed the pipe I forgot to put the extension on it and ran it like that for a night, then I realized I left it out and I put it back on. I reset the ECU but the CEL still comes up. Could it be because it keeps that record from when I left the extension out?

funny...jus afta posting about how mine isnt on cuz i got that extension thing....i turned on my car today and BAM! CEL.....i'll have to try that audi thing.
Once you reset the ECU the light should go away.

The extension worked for me for a while, then I bored it out 1/16" IIRC and that worked for a little while but it always ends up coming back.

This worked once and for all: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng53.shtml

LBV how hard was this little trick to do? are our wires the same colors as the audi's was? thanks

It was a piece of cake ... it's been a few months now but i don't recall it being difficult. I didn't bother soldering, just used butt connectors IIRC.

I just checked my notes on the install and here's what I said: "connect diode in black wire and ensure diode facing correct way" - the how-to tells you a couple of times what the correct way is.

I even think I cut the diodes wires shorther.

It tells you what to do on the link ... you should read it. But anyway, yes, just on the black wire.

In a nutshell, here's what you do:

1- get under car (DO NOT cut the top O2 sensor you see near the firewall in the engine bay - you can't see this one from under the car so no worries there)
2 - locate O2 sensor under the car connected to your downpipe
3 - cut the black wire an inch or 2 away from the actual sensor (might be easier to do this and the following steps if you unscrewed the O2 sensor from the exhaust)
4 - line up the diode so the silver-colored bar around the diode is facing up and away from the actual sensor
5 - using butt connectors, crimp the diode in between the 2 wires you just cut
6- wrap the connectors in electrical tape

You be done! No more P0139 code.

I didn't cut any actual wire off of the O2 sensor but you can trim the actual diode so it's a better fit.

Looks easy enough but got any pics?

First, I KNOW THIS IS AN OLD THREAD.... but I'm having the same issues. Even though the extender is in my cs dp, I am still getting "slow o2 sensor" cel. Anyone have any success with this?
