I am sorry if this thread isn't in the right place. I was looking in a magazine and I saw DEI CryO2 Intercooler Sprayer. I was wondering if anyone has this or what does everyone think about purchasing this. Would I see gains from this or not really? Check it out here http://www.designengineering.com/products.asp?m=sp&pid=5

there is another thread somewere that shows u how to make an IC sparyer (if u wanna save some money)

hmm.....i'm thinking it would help keep the car cool but u would have to have it setup were it sparys when it needs to or u can just get a switch to manually do it..

it does keep the car cool when our motors start to get heat soak. i think you need an FMIC tho to use it. the two setups you can have are to have it automatically spray when the engine is getting too hot or to have a button or a switch set up so you can spray whenever you want to

I wonder if you put this on the stock IC in the MSP. If it will be close to the performance of a FMIC???

I always wondered if the plastic ends on the stock smic could withstand such drastic temperature changes from the CO2. Not to mention the location of the stock airbox would probably suck in quite a bit of the CO2.

Ive been thinking this one through for a while now -
I too have been worried a bit about the plastic - but I think it will be ok as it is not recieving an impact as well as temperature change.

I plan on setting my system up to be armed by a stock Protege fog light switch in the usual place, and them triggered by a boost switch. (im staying at stock boost for warrenty purposes - so for me I would have it trigger at say 4.5 lbs of boost, that way its only on when I want it to be on - boost triggered switches are cheap - about $15)

I have spent plenty of time playing w/ my Co2 set-up......As of now I have gained a best of .45 sec. off of my quarter mile times. This is including the massive amount of fuel cut I had. I highly suggest making one yourself but if not technically inclined spend the 300 or whatever dollars and buy one.

Yes I have the stock intercooler and stock airbox......and yes I ran slower when I used the Co2 going down the track......

i already did a diy I/C water sprayer on the stock I/C. as for HP gains i have no clue, but i spray for about 7-10 secs and can notice the car pulling harder off the line. i still have the list of parts i used somewhere.

here are some pics:
