Creaking sound when depressing clutch

Hey guys,

As the title says, my clutch pedal creaks when I depress it to about 80% and keeps creaking up to when I push it all the way in. It's loud enough that it's audible from the outside in with all windows closed.

I'm pretty sure any cars I'm side by side with on the road are able to hear it too. I have a good feeling something there is rusty, I just don't know what.

If I were to guess, it just needs some wd-40 or something, so to avoid having to take it to a mechanic and spend money when I shouldn't, can I get some advise from anyone who encountered the same issue with their clutch pedal?

Thanks!

Hey,

I am having the same issue, it is almost embarassing when I have people in the car it is so loud. I have tried WD40, I even had my car in the shop a few times and have asked the mechanics about it. They say it just needs to be lubricated, both times they have done it free of charge, but pretty much I pull out of the parking lot and the creak is back.

Anyone have a solution to this?

Tom

If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

The clutch pedal is held in place with two bolts and is fully removable/adjustable.

Have you considered that it is not the pedal that is making the sound?

My experience is more on the weird side: When I depress the clutch pedal, towards the end of travel near the floorboard, even though there is no creaking sound, I can feel a creaking sensation in the pedal.

Have someone press the clutch in while you listen to see if its coming fr the trans, if its not then its probably the master slave that has been ruined by spraying wd40 on it. Wd40 will ruin the seals and let brake fluid seep out and cause the creak. The proper way is to use actual grease ( not the spray type) and cover the little arm that pushes into the master slave. You have metal pushing into rubber, over time the rubber dries out and creaks when the pedal rubs it

my good guess is that it's the pedal assembly as well. this ^ sounds like the solution I'm looking for. I'll look around for pics/steps on how to do this, but if anyone can provide, that'd be cool too.

There are "Two Bolts"

you do not need a "How To"

if you are sure that you need one, I suggest selling all tools and buying a tricycle.

lol just came back to the forums and saw this... good thing he's banned. it's sad how some people who has made a name for themselves think they're entitled be douchey.

Mine does a similar thing, I read on some honda civic forums to just apply some white lithium grease into that cylinder. Of course I did this and it still comes back. I am interested into maybe just buying a new pedal assembly and putting it in. I was wondering is there any clutch lines that go to it or anything like that or tensioners that I should worry about. Or is it simple unscrew remove and install? I think it has something to do with the pedal itself rather than the clutch or flywheel. Of course my whole trans is getting bad but youll notice if you press it in the first time it creaks and then if you press it again right after it goes away. That gives me the impression that its just had its days worth and time for a new one. Idk though, just a complete beginner on mechanics ha.

I got the same issue too, and it is DEFINITELY not the pedal itself, it sounds like it is is coming from the clutch fork area rather than the slave cylinder.

Update on this, I smeared some all purpose grease on the tip of the slave cylinder piston where it meets the clutch fork, as well as sprayed some graphite lube (calls for Molybdenum lube, but I am assuming graphite works fine too as they are both dry lubes) into the general area of the moving joints of the fork and the squeak has subsided and feels smoother. See if it holds up.
