Crash turned good must see

That "puzzle" car is the old APC (as in rice light ALtezza style American Products Company) project car. I have the magazine that detailed it's build. You'll be happy to knwo that baby went to SEMA the year it was unveiled. It's supposed to have magnetic puzzle pieces that are painted to cover the bare metal parts, cause ya, they're just that. Bare metal with clearcoat over them. Believe me when I say that it's not my cup of tea, but $9K is a STEAL for that car and the amount of custom work that went into it. I would buy it, but make sure you treat it good. As ugly as it is, it was literally one of the first Protege's ever done up i nthe aftermarket (lest we forget the abysmal Ballistic examples.... ) I digress...

Anyway, I'd pick that bad boy up but like I said as ugly as it is it really is one of the pinaccle cars that helped the Protege into the mainstream, one of thsoe cars that got recognized and helped the aftermarket realize that there was demand for this car and encouraged them to start supporting it.

Crazy. I found a pic of that exact car at 2002's SEMA show.

like i said, not a daily driver. matching the color, let alone finding someone with the skill to touch up that would be a good amount of money.

I saw that car in person as well at NOPI...THe RUsting puzzle piece was designed that way..I twas like that when newly done..THey DA'd the Surface...got the look they wanted with the pieces then cleared it and sealed it up.
It shouldn't rust anymore if totally sealed from the environment under the clear.

I'd rock it....But its definately flashy.

I honestly love the car. As for the magnetic puzzle pieces I'll ask the dealer. Any more information or links would be great I thank you all. I will keep this car in shape and most likely go to car shows. On a side note I'm not sure if I can get my totaled car. I could be wrong.

yeah, you could get your car, but you'd basically have to buy it back from them.
so the parts would have to really be worth the time and trouble.
I totalled a car a few months ago and went through the same thing. The adjuster got all weird when I asked about buying it back. Since it was a 99 nissan altima with 270k on it that they gave me 3grand for I let it go.

Hm. Yea I don't think I can part out then :/. I'd like to enter into shows but I just feel kinda odd when I didn't create the car. But I will end up adding something to the car

oh yeah btw. Like your car and congrats. I bought mine for not much less than yours so I'd say you did good. Anyone know what customizing does to resale? I've heard that it drops the price and yet I've seen some buddies who customize light trucks and sell for big bucks. Must be a niche market I guess.

I sold my old Protege for 1500 more than what I bought it with only so much as a few bolt ons and the paint touched up a bit. If the car looks clean you can make some loot :)
