crack in windshield....replace or no?

So I walk out to my car today to find about a 12-14inch crack in the middle of my windshield. No idea how it happened (I am in college so it is parked outside and I can only guess someone hit it with a football or something by accident).
I am about to put the car up for sale very soon and it is in very good condition (only 56k miles, bone stock, etc...) except for this. Is it worth it to get it replaced before the sale? ie would the crack affect the sale price to the extent that it is worth it to be replaced?
If so, any suggestions? I checked on ebay and i can get one for about $200. Another thought i had was to check junk yards in the area (i'm assuming any old regular protege windshield would fit?)

Any feedback is greatly appreciated

i would prolly look better to the buyer if the windshield is fixed. i wouldnt buy a car with a crack in the windshield. u can get a ticket for that where im from

yeah i just looked into it a little bit more---my insurance will cover it without a problem.
It seems silly to let something like this go when I've taken such good care of the car all along...

i believe if the crack is over 10 inches in length and impairs the drivers vision then it will not pass state inspection. atleast that's how it is in PA. so yes that would hurt the sale.

yup, got it taken care of already. full glass coverage ftw. 0 deductable.
I guess my thought was that I could live with it for a while if i was going to have to pay like $500 to get it replaced but since i'm selling it soon this is definitely the way to go.

it's just a stress fracture most likely... yet another notorious MSP issue... Mazda stiffend the chassis from the stock protege... wich makes the windsheild a weak spot... Ive had my windshield cracked for about a year now due to the same reason... no ticket yet *knock on wood* cuz its in the middle of the winshield right about the stearing wheel...
and how much are you selling your car for?

only reason I havent replaced mine is cuz I'm pouring all of my money into the build, should be done some time in september or so tho...

The car is super clean and only has 56k on it--2 owners never modded so i'm thinking around 9-10k. sounds pretty reasonable, right?

Should be doable. I bought mine basically stock for 10300 from a dealer with 68K about 8 months ago.

I think I read somewhere that the MSP windshield is thinner than a standard one... or am I crazy?

I agree... I paid 13 for mine with 37K on it...

and Idk about the thinner part... I'm sure due to the chassis stiffening tho, along with the added suspension and the sway bars and what not... if you ever take off your A-pillar cover and you see a piece of mettal with 3 holes in it I believe, there not on the stock protege... thats the reason I ont like the A-pillar gauge pod on the MSP, it sticks out to far and makes me feal less comertable driving, it creates a bit of a blind spot...
