Ive just bougth that strut bar for my car and I would like to say to everyone that it doesnt fit on 1.6L engine because the air manifold is a little too high. For me, it does'nt really matter because I'm having a new engine soon, but it's a little frustrating to do not be able to see it in the car or even feel it now. :)

CP Racing should say it in the specification.

I bought one off of Ebay a while ago, and had the same issue. It contacted the intake manifold and the cruise control.

There are some bars on Ebay that are a different shape. The middle 90% of the bar is raised a few inches. I'm considering buying one of those.

The ebay ones fit well. I got one!.

You still need to cut a small piece out for the cruize no problem, just a notch.

Zerocover - That's a broad generalization. The one you bought may fit fine, but mine contacts not only the cruise control, but also the intake manifold/throttle body, and the strut tower bracket. I'd prefer to just buy a bar that fits right out of the box, rather than cut and chop a bunch of pieces.

Did yours fit right on, other than contacting the cruise? Did you have to cut/relocate the tower bracket too?

There is a specific Strut Tower Brace for the 1.6L engine.

You MUST ask specifically for the 1.6L Brace or you will probably get the general Protege one which will NOT fit.

As you can see it is a good quality Brace. I even have a Lower Tie Bar (that braces the chassis) for the Protege too!
