Cp-e Xcel Nano install and review w/ pics n vid

Place an order earlier today. I know it's for the MS3, but I'm sure it can fit a MS6. I'm tired of waiting for an intake of all things. I'm just glad I didn't spend all my money on my home theater. What sucks is that all the money I saved for my car has gone into my home theater minus what I spent on the Nano. I couldn't stand waiting anymore. Now that I spent most of my money, I bet all the great s*** we've all been waiting for will be released soon.(hand)

If it doesn't fit, I'm sure someone on here will be glad to give you close to what you payed for it.

I don't know if this should go here but, Im at odds about getting the oiled vs the dry flow cone for the CPE nano. Anybody have a say about this? Help maybe?
Thanks

I'm sure there's a thread on this somewhere. Personally I've been using an oiled filter in my 97' Silverado since new with 0 probs. I've read that the oil can get into the sensor, but is fine if you re-oil correctly. Oiling is kinda PITA, so I'm getting interested in the Amsoil dry filter or something similar. They claim different media filters better than oiled, (or course they do). But I know for sure they build a great oil filter, so I'm optimistic about the air filter.
When I ordered my Nano from SU, they only had dry; vacuum, blow, re-use.
Can't wait to install it next week.(thumb)

Yeah, some concern about over-oiling when you clean them. The excess can contaminate the MAF and cause problems. So, you should follow the instructions carefully.

Basically, it's convenience vs. restrictiveness vs. filtration. Cleaning intervals are higher on dry flows and it's easier to do. Dry filters seem generally to have higher restrictiveness but also filter out more fine dust particles. So, if you want to minimize restrictiveness and are willing to clean them frequently, oiled are probably marginally better. You have to decide how important maximum flow is to you.http://static.mazdas247.com/smilies/boom07.gif

Incidentally check out this AEM graph which shows both AFE filters. Looks like the dry filter will need to be cleaned very frequently to keep it flowing well. At least according to AEM. (boom07) The oiled AFE does a lot better.

and i just dissconnect the negative terminal of the battery, and then step on the break pedal before restarting the car?

No, but your ECU will have a fresh start if you do, reducing the amount of time it takes you to get to optimum fuel trims for the increased air flow.

okay gotcha. install the intake. completely disconnect the batter play around with the brake, then reconnect and then start?

Just paid for mine! Should be here by Wednesday! BTW you can get a 3% discount thru SU if you type in the code: SuRocks.

Is it confirmed that SU has received their batch of SRI's? If so, I need to cancel my other pre-order and just get it through SU.

Congrats. I will have to console myself with the effective $40 discount ($222.50 shipped minus $62.50 LiveSearch cashback = $160) I'm getting by going through dabears. Just barely enough consolation when I see SU is now shipping.

Yup, I talked to the guy this morning and he was looking at mine. So does this intake have to be oiled or is it a dry-flow? If so I will probably just run over to Cobb and get a filter recharge kit from them.
