Well left a message, I guess its to early or they won't be there till Monday. Oh well hope I receive it by the end of the week so I can tune...hehe
 
hey knowledge, im getting my standback this week to maybe week can exchange ideas, help, etc... im realy excited to get it!!

sorry to thread jack for a sec but honestly i want a CF hood without paying 900. to bad theyre not like 300. lol. then id fab some hood vents in before i painted it. oh well. im sure ill fig something out before to long.
 
Well purchased and awaiting shipment. Like I said before I hope I get it before the w/e so can tune on the w/e. Sure MS3ICA, I plan on tuning everything but timing. Are you planning on bumping up the psi. I am going to 18. Well on one map for sure.
 
thanks...I had a feeling that was coming. Guess what, I took my car to the dealer b/c the TPMS system keeps flashing at me. Plus I hear alot of clunking noise during shifts. You know the normal noise on a manual car but to me its a little loud considering I have had many manual cars.

But get this, they now told me that they want to replace my turbo???

nice!!! atleast you get a free turbo out of it! snatch it up and sell me your old one!
 
Yeah they said when they started it for a test drive I was smoking bad. Doesn't help with the 3"s...hehe so they are going to change it out... Besides, the mech working on it is the same one who installed the 3"s. So I am not worried about it.
 
Hey K007, that sucks, in a way... I need to get with my dealer and discuss my aftermarket options b/c if my turbo whinnies into the sunset I'll be pissed! What caused it, just 'mechanical parts' being mechanical?
 
This is a situation with some or maybe all 07 MS3's even some MS6's. It is the turbo seals. Drops of oil get in between and therefore burn creating white smoke. You might not see it as much b/c of all the restrictions with the stock exhaust. I have as you know 3"s all the way back with one high flow and one 12" muffler. So you can imagine what it looks like when I smoke.

Sunday I was smoking bad, like clouds and clouds. But this is only during idle. So it happened again when they went for a test drive. Oh well... This is normal for all turbo cars, especially when you start buying aftermarket big turbo's...
 
Black Smoke = Oil
White Smoke = Coolant/Water

and i know knowledge...was just yanking your chain. although i would love to get my hands on a stock k04 to have some rebuilding fun with
 
I bet... I really like that cf hood man. I was raised in L.A. and have all my family over there. I am so tempted to picking that thing up but just spent some money on a beautiful CP-E standback.
 
get the EMS dude. Way better than the TMIC. THEN, when the weather starts to get cold here, get the FMIC and you'll wet your pants out of joy.
 
Since Mazda is replacing the turbo, should I drill another O2 bung hole for my soon to come a/f gauge? What do you think they will charge me...?
 
just have an exhaust shop do it for $10-$15 bucks

don't have the dealer do it. don't even think they would anywayz

how do plan on tuning with the dyno or just a laptop, im kinda lost in this area
