CP-E SRI Install?

I had one and got rid of it after a year or so. I got sick of the heavy breathing intake sound drowning out the roar of engine. But now I want my power back, so it's time to try something different. And with my new mid-pipe I may still be able to hear the engine. Besides the power, I'm looking forward to getting the turbo blow-off sound back again.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see. I think one thing will be better even if the SRI is a little louder. That's not having all the intake noise concentrated at the left fender area. Instead it should be somewhat diffused throughout the engine bay.

No question there... The SRI is BY FAR louder than the CAI. I have driven cars with Cobbs and they are considerably louder than mine.

Oh, well. I'll learn to live with it or maybe just take it off and run stock periodically. It's interesting how subjective loudness can be, though. I thought my mid-pipe was very noticeably louder than stock. My wife didn't even notice the difference and she usually notices everything.

What about the character of the sound (ie., heavy breathing suction noise), do both intakes sound the same, with the SRI just being louder?

Gah, I wish we had some sense of the power gain. Now that these are here, and I get my first paycheck soon, I'd like to pick an SRI up very soon. Seen enough horror stories now about CAI and hydrolock to just go SRI. Dry filter a huge plus. Will we feel low-end gains in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th significantly with htis intake, like the Cobb?

I hope the Nano isn't as loud as the Cobb. I'm sure that has something to do with the SRI, so I guess it's not a valid hope.

(uhm) When I had a COBB SRI, I wished it was louder. And I'm one of those guys who doesn't want an aftermarket exhaust because I like how quiet it is stock.
