cp-e nano and pg fmic with cobb AP?

haven't bought my AP yet but am really looking into it. i currently have the cp-e nano on my ms3 and will be getting the pg fmic. am also planning on a test/race pipe (not sure on brand yet). with these mods will the stage 1 fmic map be okay?

the question is really whether the cp-e nano if equivalent to the cobb sri and the pg fmic close enough to the cobb fmic that my car will be okay with the ots maps. i've tried searching around and couldn't find anything. any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

im in the same boat as you, cpe-nano, pg inlet and looking into the ap. I think you can run the stage 1 with it, but keep a close eye on it or maybe even get a tune because its possible the cobb ap doesnt like the cpe sri....someone correct me if im wrong.

No intakes are equivalent, they are all different requiring specific calibrations. Thankfully you can download AccessTUNER Race and create your own calibration for your CPE intake. Or you can get a custom tune for your car as well. With the race/test pipe installed you will want to run the stage2 map.

The FMIC type will not really alter the tune the way differing intakes do becuase these do not alter airflow over the MAF sensor the way an intake does.

thanks for the info! Travis, do we use one of the base maps to start off with and do some datalogging? then from there depending on the numbers and using the accesstuner software to tweak? not too familiar with this stuff.

one other quick thing, i was under the impression that the stage 2 maps required a high flow cat replacement of the 1st cat? full downpipes are a little more than i'd like to spend right now which is why i'm considering a testpipe instead and just delete the 2nd cat.

I wouldn't run a map that is too aggresive for your mods. Thats how you may run into trouble. I would run a conservative one until you can get a custom tune done.

has anyone found the calibrations to be that much different between the nano and cobb sri?

You can use one of any of the maps on our website to start tweaking and logging from. The tuning guide, which you can find on our forums, offers some good advice on creating your own intake calibration. You should start from a stock intake map and create your calibration from there. This is a better starting point than a tuned intake map, unless of course you find that another calibration is closer to LTFT targets which is about +-5%.

just email travis your data logs pay him about 100 buckagroo's and you get your own custom map so your car runs perfect. youll get a tune for YOUR CAR. had a buddy do this with his 6 and it came out perfect. i may be doing this as well with the pg FMIC.

its nothing you need to stress. cobb creates there maps using their parts so of course when using others parts the car isnt going to run the way it does with cobbs parts.

but not all maps work on all cars period. there a guy who has all cobb parts and none of the maps work on his car properly.

im runing like most people with an AP and other brand parts and have no probss.

get the AP and dont be worried

a custom tune is also very expensive...i'd be okay with a conservatively tuned tweaked map using the atr application. we'll see how it goes i guess

as ive said above...you can send travis a $100 or so bucks and tune through data logging and emailing. i knwo someone whos done this and it worked out great. i thought it ran good with the website tune but when travis got his hands on the datalogs it ran 10 times better than before. its only 100 and its well worth it.

You can't send me any money... well you can if you want and I will send you the details for my paypal account. I am currently accepting donations for my awesome fund, because it is awesome when there are funds in it!

You will need to contact one of our tuners if you want an E-Tune. Surgeline Tuning in Portland, OR (www.surgelinetuning.com) charges $180 for an E-Tune. You can also give Akuma Motorsports (former COBB Tuning calibrator, www.akumamotorsports.com). I am not sure what they charge for an E-Tune but give them a call.

lol. i didnt mean you off of here. (the forum) hhaaha. even 180 is about half what you would pay for a dyno tune.
