Got one. Does the job as advertised. No obstruction of view. The contour of the unit, though, was slightly less curved than the dash itself, and I could not get both of the front corners to adhere to the dash properly. It hardly shows, though. Nobody would notice unless they were making a careful inspection of the thing looking for flaws.

My biggest issue was that the larger, bottom opening was too small. It was damned near impossible to put the unit in place without having to wrestle & finesse the thing into place. Solved that with a Dremel in about 2 minutes.

I no longer work overnight- back on days. So if you want to see the product, drop me a PM.

Resurrecting this one.

Bill- had the same issue when I installed my vent mount, the curvature isn't quite as tight as the contour of the dash. It got to the point where only one of the peices of double stick tape was holding the mount on after about 8 months of it installed. Yesterday I just decided to rip it off, remove the old tape and put some fresh stuff on there. Haven't stuck it back on because I think I'm going to take it to work and put a heat gun on it, warm it up and squish the corners in a bit so I never have to worry about the plastic pulling away from the dash again.

I put my dashhawk in that same spot, but I just stuck a piece of heavy duty velcro there and stick the dashhawk on the velcro. Works fine so far. Probably doesn't look great but I don't care. I'm more of a "cheap and functional" kind of guy.

I know a lot of people put their dashhawk on the steering column, but that wasn't an option for me because I keep the steering wheel up high to leave room for my legs. When the wheel is up, I can't see the dashhawk on the steering column. Works great over there on the side by the vent though.

No s***, after I got mine, its like, OK free bracket, free mount.

the cpe mount is NOT $75 better, at least in my view. Which is worth nuthin around here

Yeah, after getting my hands on the CPE mount, I thought it seemed more like a $20-25 piece.

In another week or two, I will have my PLX Kiwi Bluetooth OBDII transmitter to link to my Droid which is already loaded with a software package called "Torque." So if that all works as well as advertised, I may have a DH and CPE mount up for grabs in a month or two. We'll see.

I think so. But I partly got it to use as a boost gauge, and it doesn't look like you need that functionality.

Nice to be able to monitor everything that's going on with the car (although I think it makes me more paranoid that something is wrong) and nice to be able to setup alerts so that it will warn you right away if something IS wrong.

I found the DH well worth the money. A little low-tech as far as the display itself, but fairly nimble in what it will do. For instance, I set mine to turn bright blue every time I hit 80 on the interstate, just to remind me to slow down. I also added coolant temp alarms, but that's more of a concern if you run forced induction (turbo/SC).

If you know a little about what the numbers mean (IAT's, AFR, Fuel trim, etc.) you can learn a LOT about what's "normal" for your car on a daily basis & therefore somewhat monitor its health. Plus, it will read & clear ECU codes & do datalogging.

And it swaps into almost any OBDII vehicle with little fuss. So you can take it with you. Bonus.

Bill, let us know how the kiwi bluetooth unit works! That is a neat idea. Hopefully Torque will work on my Vibrant.

I started a thread about it after I pre-ordered it... plan to resurrect the thread once I receive the unit. Supposed to ship by 9/1. We'll see.
