Put this in last night...I really like it so far. The location is perfect. A little glare in the direct sun, but I was getting that anyway. Right above the boost gauge, too, which is nice.

Looks great, but I'd be worried about my window fogging up when it rains/gets cold.

Both pieces maintain airflow...the gauge mount has airflow around the gauge, and the DH mount has vents cut in the plastic where it sits above the top defroster vent.

dashwawk mount looks very nice and clean...i just picked up my boost gauge and AC/heat vent pod was wondering if theres a post or thread you used to install your boost gauge??

Just curious... I also have this unit, and it is a darned nice item for DH owners. But I am interested to know if mine was a factory defect, or if the production is consistently off. When I got mine, the receiver holes on the base unit (where the tabs on the backing plate inserts) looked like they had been cut by a 5 year old kid with a pocket knife. And it was next to impossible to get the backing plate into them.

No biggie, as 90 seconds of careful Dremel time took care of it. I'm just interested to know if mine was an aberration, or the norm.

I wonder if CP-E did any reading about the ill effects from the SUN damaging the LCD screens on the DH, there has been MANY accounts of the unit sitting in the SUN and the LCD screens start to fail cuz of the intense heat the unit gets. So I do think it's cool, but I would like to have mine last a bit longer. just my 2 cents.

Yeah, the holes were a bit off...and it is pretty difficult to remove the DH from the mount, but all in all I'm pretty happy with it. Where it was before it was getting a lot of sun, too, so I can't see how this is going to be any different.
