Couple more questions about the MS3

I've owned the car now for a few months but still have a few questions....

1) DSC- Dynamic Stability Control. How does this differ from traction control exactly. The only time I see this light flash on is under hard acceleration, which leads me to wonder how much it differs. Does this car also have TC, which is undefeatable?

2) DSC OFF= less HP/TQ?! I remember read a thread where someone dyno'd there car with DSC OFF and it registered "less" HP/TQ. Is this possible? Is this true?

3) Rear washer leak. Under heavy acceleration my rear washer leaks fluid onto the rear window. Is this normal?

4) Wheel Hop. Right off the bat I installed SU rear mount because I heard about the terrible wheel hop we have. Sometimes under heavy acceleration I get it still, occasionally it's just one jolt or hop. Has anyone ever experienced that....just one wheel hop jolt by it'self. lol

traction control is just that, limits power to wheels to reduce spinning under hard acceleration. The dynamic stability control has things like your brake force distributer, the torque control that sends slightly more power to either wheel with more grip. The traction control is defeatable by pressing and holding the DSC OFF button while starting the car. you will see both lights come on and stay on. There is no change in horsepower with it on or off, the car just handles differently and has more ecu intervention to keep it on the road. My rear washer doesnt leak and yours shouldnt either so have that checked out and warrantied. I have a motor mount and yes there is that single little wheel hop, but thats mostly your wheel breaking free from the ground under the torque of acceleration and the shift, it's not really a wheelhop

and by the way, if you turn off the dsc and tcs you will really get the full effect of the limited slip diff. our cars have and you will feel it pull differently when cornering. also you will be able to lock the rear wheels with the e-brake. BE CAREFUL WITH EVERYTHING DISABLED IT'S A TOTALLY DIFFERENT HANDLING CAR.

Wow, much unlike someone who posts a question without using the search function, I have to read my users manual! Is that "trick" even in the users manual?!

So this method turns off BOTH at the same time?

I'm assuming at the track (for 1/4 mile runs) both should be off.

Yeah I'll have them look at it when they install the new cowl isolators, that "windshield" creak is driving my batty.

It feels like the same violent jolt as wheel hop- but yeah you are probably right. I just thought the wheels would break traction and spin before breaking free from the ground. But then again, accelerating in a FRONT wheel drive car reduces the weight load on the power tires as it swats rear-ward.

Thanks you for the swift and comprehensive replies. Much appreciated!

Your welcome! yes that method turns off both at once, your only choice is both on, dsc off, or dsc and tcs off together. you cant just turn off the tcs. At the track you MIGHT want them off, depending on your driving skill and amount of throttle control you have to keep the power to the ground. Also, depending on what type of driving your doing like 1/4 mile compared to autocrossing you might want to change it up and find one works better for one type of driving than others. This is just what i have found from personal experience im sure theres people who know more and can say otherwise....

I think the wheel hop issue may be exacerbated by the stock tires. When I went to an all season, I no longer get any wheel hop. Acceleration has not been impacted IMO.
