Couple issues/questions

Hey guys, it's been about 25 degrees here in sunny Maryland. I've noticed that my windshield down near the dash creaks when I drive now. I didn't notice it when the weather was warmer when I took the car to Florida a couple weeks ago.

Has anyone else noticed this? It might be my imagination but I'm pretty sure that if I crank the front defrost on and warm up the windshield, the creak goes away.

Also, I listen to Howard Stern on my iPod Touch while driving and the front passenger speaker sometimes sounds like its blown. The dealer said that's common depending on how the podcast/music is recorded. Anyone else have this issue? It seems fine when I play the radio loud so I assume he was correct.

Last thing, behind my driver's seat it seems like something is loose. I can touch the fabric and feel a gridlike object inside the fabric and I can move it around with my hand. Anyone else experience this?

Other than that I love the 5. I'm averaging 26mpg and can't wait to put foglights in and tint the windows this Summer.

don't know about the loose part in the seat, but I do get a slight creaking from the windshield/dash area ever since it got cold. I guess it's just part of the mazda5 experience
I would say that while listening to Stern a lot of things get 'blown'.

we have the same windshield creak in our 2 month old '10. i hope it doesn't make me go insane. i'm pretty sure it did that from day one, when it was well above freezing here in minnesota, but i won't know for sure for a a few months, but i will try the defrost trick.

i wanted to swap for a different 5 that didn't make the noise, but caught it too late.

i figured it's like the movie Tommy Boy and someone dropped a few m&m's down the dash vents and they're making the noise! on a serious note, if someone can source the root cause and fix, that'd be awesome, but i bet removing all the dash will make for even more creaks and might not find the root cause.

my 2010 5 creaks, the same way my 2008 MS3 creaked. I fixed it myself with some scotch rubber mastic tape, but i'll probably let the dealer fix it this time.

I have that windshield/dashboard creaking in cold weather three winters now.
