Cost of replacing timing chain?

:
2015 Mazda3
The mechanic we go to suggested to have the timing chain replaced at the dealership so I'm assuming this type of work is only done at the dealership?

My brother called the dealership and got a quote of $1500.

Anyone here ever got it done for less that isn't at the dealership (they're always generally more expensive than other types of places that fixes cars)?

The car I'm talking about has 267,000 miles already so I think it's time to have it replaced.

What other components should be replaced when replacing a timing chain? I'm sure it all comes in a kit when done at the dealership?

I haven't done it but if you're going to do it...I assume it's all on the "front" of the engine. (which would actually be the passenger side). If it's a typical engine setup, Replace:

Water Pump
Front Main Engine Seal
Cam Seals?
There are probably chain guides. Usually made from plastic on many cars.
Chain guide Tensioner
Accessory Serpentine belt.

I wouldn't use anything other than pure OEM parts. NOT sourced from ebay or amazon where everything is counterfeit now.
