Correct method of resetting MS6 ECU?

What is the correct way to reset the ecu on my MS6? Do I just disconnect the neg. battery terminal? Do I pump the brakes? Do I hold the key in the ignition until the CEL light flashes 8 times? I have read differenct methods for resetting the ecu and would like someone to educate me on the correct way of doing it. Thanks.

from what i was told, all you do is disconnect the Neg. terminal for 5-10 minutes. then re attach and go about your way. just take it easy for the first couple hundred miles to let the ECU relearn trims.

It wouldn't hurt to also put your foot on the brake for thirty seconds just to make sure everything is discharged.

Awesome, i will try. If i may one more question. Is it necessary to replace the timing chain / 120000 KM? The chain tensioner is very noisy
